Update twonky on wd mybook live

I think the up and coming update is going to wipe out all their hard work. Erasing the corrupted database files is just such a simple thing. OK, I accepted the solution post. Just a suggestion. Do you know what the state of play regarding the Public folder on the update? Can the admin set the permissions of this folder to be read only and also being to make the Public folder unavailable or available to the FTP service?
